Just came back from Bangkok. My fav short trip destination. Everyday go Healthland for massage, everyday eat shark fin, everyday eat tom yum, everyday go shopping.... Hmmm..very very happy!
The hotel knew that it was my birthday. So they gave me a plate of chocolates... so sweet of them. I promised darling that I won't shop too much this trip... it will be a relax trip...hee... so, didn't buy the whole bkk which i usually did. Just bought a couple of nice scarf, blouses and lots of "no use no need" stuff. After the trip, got this "I didn't shop enough" feeling. . haha.. but darling already half dead..haha.. We tried different type of massages..thai, herbal compress and aromatherapy. All very good but aromatherapy is the best. Very cheap...1.5hrs for $40.
We met a interesting driver there. He was a chinese. He told us his version of the political situation in Thailand. He is Thaksin supporter. He said the mastermind behind the current riot is the queen. She wanted her son to succeed the throne. There is a prophesy that there will be no more king after this generation. So, she is very worried that Thaksin will become too powerful. Hence, she destroyed him before he gets out of control. How true... I have no idea. But his narration is very interesting.
After this trip, I am crazy about thai cuisine. Will try to make a few dishes and see how it turns out. .hee.. who likes to try?
