With God's grace, we had our first big case. 11 drivers for a construction company. It is not easy to begin with as the boss has a lot of demands and drove a hard bargain. Nevertheless, the drivers eventually arrived in Singapore 2 weeks ago. Yesterday all the 11 of them came to my office to complain. Things that they complaint about: -
1. They don't like to live with Indians
2. The food is not nice (They were given drumstick and a fillet everyday)
3. They have spent all their money and like to borrow some
4. The pay is too little ($1800 for drivers with OT pay. They are fully aware of their salary before they came)
5. They want us to pay them the transport to see a doctor and they want to take cab instead of bus (I asked them if their employers in China pay for their transport. They said no.)
6. Our partner has a old TV. So out of good gesture, he gave it to them. It is spolit and they want us to repair it.
7. They want us to buy tonics for them
8. As their license need to be converted, they can't be a driver till it is done. During this period, they still get salary from the company. Hence, boss asked them to do some general works such as painting, cleaning, etc. They don't want to do.
We tried to reason with them. After much talking, we told them that if they are so unhappy, they are free to go home with full agent fee refund. Felt extrememly exhasted at the end of the day. I think China has prosper so much that they become so so pamper... the canteen food are provided for free but they choose to eat outside 'cos they feel the standard is no good. Unbelievable.. What a day!
